No Seizures! A Christmas Miracle!

Hey friends,

We hope you have had a great Christmas and are holding on well as kids are out of school, routines are thrown off, and everyone is lost about what day it is. Our Kids had a great Christmas, and I tried to soak up every bit of it with a fresh perspective that we never truly know how many Christmases we will get to experience in our lifetime. Sorry if that feels dark, but it's true, cancer diagnosis or not.

I have now had seven sessions of radiation, and that means 23 to go. Feel free to read more about that in my last blog post, and check out the creepy mask I have to wear to keep my head in place. I am tired and often can easily nap for 2-3 hours, then sleep through the night.

On Monday this week, we upped one of my seizure meds again, and I haven't had a seizure since Tuesday night! I'm now on 2150 mg a day of seizure medication. What a joy it was to have Christmas Eve and Day seizure-free, which was a surprise I didn't see coming, considering these can be high-stress, high-volume days (noise and stress are my big triggers). We are hopeful this is the right combo amount to keep them away. My doctor also said that since they were focal seizures and not ones where I pass out, I could likely get my keys back sooner once we got the right dosage. I really miss that freedom and independence to drive myself.

In other news, Phillip and I got Stubborn Radical Hope Tattoos! They're in the healing process right now, so I'll spare you the photo until it's healed. We love it! Y'all give our friends at Electric Alter some business.

Wishing you a happy new year!

Prayer Requests:

  1. Energy for me to show up well as a wife, mom, and employee throughout radiation.

  2. Phillip's energy as he takes on more and is stressed.

  3. Our family as 2026 is going to be hard, but hopefully full of healing.

In case you were curious what the machine looks like here's a photo!
