Hey friends, It's been a bit since I've updated here. I find that most people want a social media post and not a blog, but a lot has happened.
On December 17th, I started radiation. I had 30 sessions, 5 days a week. I wrapped up on January 30th, and followed with a month off before chemo begins. In this small window, we made some big changes. I had lost the hair on the right half of my head. Knowing that chemo was likely going to take more, I decided to go ahead and shave my head. We also put in an offer on a home we love, got it under contract, and are selling our own. I turned 32. I got two cute and fun wigs to wear when I don't feel like being bald.
Today is March 2nd. I'm starting Chemo tonight. I'll be on a pill system called PCV. It's a 6-week cycle, and I have to do 6 rounds, so if everything goes as planned, I will finish between November and December. My blood toxicity has a lot to do with the timeline.
CYCLE BREAKDOWN: On Day 1 - I take 5 pills. Days 2-7 Break Day 8- IV from oncology
Day 8-21 - Nightly Chemo pill
Day 22-28 - Break and Bloodwork (once a week)
Day 29- IV from oncology
Day 30-42 - Break and Bloodwork (once a week)
If you know me, you will know that I have a major phobia of throwing up. It's the thing I've honestly been dreading the most about having cancer. I know that sounds silly, but it's true. Tragically enough, some of our house has had a bug this weekend, so I'm already on edge. So if you are a praying person, please lift up these things: 1. That my body receives the treatment well, with blood counts and stomach issues. 2. My family, as we adapt again to a new normal of medications and side effects.
I can still show up well in my areas despite treatment.
The treatment is successful.
Once again, that I don't throw up, lol.
Moving while undergoing treatment.
